Queen - I Want to Break Free, Live @ The Cinnamon Club
We were booked to play a private 80's themed party at The Cinnamon Club in Manchester, and we had a ball. This is one of the songs we like to play later in the set, and as you can see the dancefloor was in fine form.
Tiffany - I Think We're Alone Now, Live @ Halfway House
6 Song Medley, Live @ The CookHouse
This video shows a few snippets of some of the staple songs on our setlist.
Prince - 1999
We couldn't be an 80's band if we didn't cover something by one of the decades most iconic and unique songwriters and performers. Prince's apocolyptic classic was originally released in September 1982.
Tiffany - I Think We're Alone Now
Tiffany's one-hit wonder was originally released in 1987 and was actually a cover of a song by Tommy James and the Shondells from 20 years earlier. We love playing this one and it is a sure-fire dance floor filler.
Wham! - Freedom
Wham! were superstars in the 80s and Freedom was to be their second UK number one record in October 1984. When we play this tune we like to start it soulful and slow before coming in full throttle for maximum dance floor impact.
Dolly Parton - 9 to 5
This just sneaks into the legally allowed songlist of the GR80s as it was released at the start of the decade in 1980 to accompany the film of the same name. We can't really claim to be country music connesouirs but Dolly smashed it out of the park with this one!
Deacon Blue - Dignity
Unbelievably, this tune failed to chart when it was initially released in March 87 but has since become a firm favourite and something of a working class anthem and always goes down well when we play it live.
Journey - Don't Stop Believin'
Journey's 1981 classic has the claim to fame of being the best selling digital track of the 20th century and regularly makes it into top ten lists of greatest songs of the 80s.
